At Indie Fude (Ormeau) · 232 Ormeau Road, Belfast, Co. Antrim, BT7 2FZ
Indie Fude’s Ormeau Road shop runs its EatMoreFish Weekend across three days, built around celebrating local seafood through supper clubs, talks, tastings and hands-on classes, with a sister programme running the same weekend at Indie Fude’s original Comber shop in County Down. Friday opens with an Indie Supper Club dinner pairing Irish seafood with wine, a ticketed evening that tends to sell out ahead of the weekend itself. Saturday is the busiest day, with a free Kids’ Introduction to Seafood session at 11am, a free talk from a local fisherman at 12:30pm, a free shellfish tasting at 2:30pm and a free sustainability discussion with Fish City at 3:30pm, before a ticketed Family Supper Club at 5pm where children eat free. Sunday brings a Seashore Forage with forager Clare McQuillan at 10:30am, teaching participants to identify and gather edible coastal plants and shellfish, followed by a Food Ed kids’ cooking class at 2pm aimed at introducing children to preparing seafood themselves. The weekend is designed to work for both serious food fans wanting the supper club experience and families wanting a free, hands-on introduction to where seafood comes from, with producers and fishermen on hand throughout to talk through their work and answer questions about sustainable sourcing along the Northern Ireland coast.
Indie Fude’s Ormeau Road shop is close to the Ormeau Embankment and on the main Metro bus corridor between Belfast city centre and south Belfast, with Botanic rail station around a fifteen-minute walk away. On-street parking is available in the surrounding streets.
