Nice Lady by Teresa Livingstone - Lyric Theatre Belfast

At Lyric Theatre Belfast, Main Stage · 55 Ridgeway Street, Belfast, Co. Antrim

Solo performer on the Lyric Theatre Belfast Main Stage for Nice Lady

What to Expect

Northern Ireland performer and musician Teresa Livingstone brings her solo show Nice Lady to the Lyric Theatre Belfast’s Main Stage on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 September 2026. Written and performed by Livingstone, the piece blends stand-up storytelling with original songs, built around the question of what happens when a middle-aged Northern Irish woman finally drops the politeness and says what she actually thinks. Reviewers have called Livingstone “a terrific performer,” praising how she moves between comic monologue and live music to build a show about reclaiming your own voice and sense of self after years of being told to stay quiet and agreeable. The show runs in two parts, a shorter twenty-minute opening act followed by a full hour, giving the piece room to build from light comic set-up into something more personal by its close.

Good to Know

Nice Lady plays the Lyric’s Main Stage for two performances only, both starting at 7:30pm, on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 September 2026. Tickets cost between £16 and £28. Lyric+ members can claim 10 percent off Tuesday and Wednesday performances where relevant, and the venue runs a multibuy offer of 15 percent savings when booking three or more shows across its autumn season, alongside a £16 community and student rate for selected performances. Book directly through the Lyric Theatre website or by phone at 028 9038 1081, as this is a short two-night run.

Getting There

The Lyric Theatre sits on Ridgeway Street close to Belfast’s Botanic Gardens and Queen’s University, with regular Translink bus services and metered street parking in the surrounding area. The theatre’s café bar overlooking the River Lagan is open beforehand for anyone wanting a drink or food before curtain up.

Nice Lady sits within a wider run of solo and small-cast work programmed across the Lyric’s Main Stage and Naughton Studio through August and September 2026, giving Belfast audiences a concentrated run of new writing and performer-led shows to choose from across a single autumn season.
