Apex Dramatic Society’s summer musical theatre programme culminates in Shows Through the Years, a showcase of singing, dancing and acting performed by the youth of Mid Ulster at The Burnavon in Cookstown on Saturday, 8 August 2026. The programme draws numbers from Annie, Legally Blonde, Bugsy Malone and other stage and screen musicals, with a matinee at 2pm and a repeat performance at 8pm.
The cast is made up of participants in Apex Music Centre’s Dramatic Society Summer Musical Theatre Programme, a training course that runs through the school summer holidays and ends with this public performance. Expect a mixed programme of ensemble numbers rather than a single storyline, moving between well-known musical theatre and film scores, with young performers taking lead and supporting roles across the show. The production uses flashing lighting effects as part of its staging, which the venue flags in advance for anyone sensitive to that. All proceeds from ticket sales go back into funding Apex Music Centre’s ongoing programmes, so buying a ticket directly supports the training that produced the show.
