The Wolfe Tones - SSE Arena Belfast

At SSE Arena Belfast · 2 Queens Quay, Belfast, Co. Antrim

The Wolfe Tones live at SSE Arena Belfast

The Wolfe Tones have been singing Irish ballads, rebel songs and folk standards for over sixty years, and they show no sign of slowing. This August bank holiday weekend show at SSE Arena Belfast brings Tommy Byrne, Noel Nagle and Brian Warfield to one of Ireland’s biggest indoor stages, picking up where their sold-out 60th anniversary run left off in 2024. If you grew up with their records or have only caught them in clips online, a Wolfe Tones arena night is a different thing entirely - the crowd does as much work as the band.

What to expect

The current three-piece lineup plays the full catalogue: the rebel anthems, the emigrant songs, the slow ballads that clear a dance floor in one breath and fill it again in the next. Expect a long set - these are not a band that rushes. The atmosphere at their shows leans strongly Irish diaspora and nationalist tradition, and the audience tends to know every word. Doors open at 6pm with the show starting at 7:30pm. GA Standing tickets are available but are restricted to over-14s; under-14s anywhere in the venue must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. Tickets are capped at six per transaction and are sold through Ticketmaster.

Getting there

The SSE Arena sits at 2 Queens Quay on the Laganside, a short distance east of Belfast city centre in the Titanic Quarter. By car, follow signs for the Titanic Quarter and cross Queen’s Bridge onto Queen’s Quay - roughly eight minutes from the city centre. The Odyssey Car Park beside the arena holds 1,500 spaces but fills fast on concert nights; Q-Park Victoria Square is a solid alternative a short walk away. By bus, Translink Metro services 26, 26a and 26b run from Donegall Square West and stop at Odyssey Pavilion. Belfast Central Station is around ten minutes on foot.

While you’re in Belfast

The Titanic Quarter itself is worth arriving early for - the Titanic Belfast museum is a five-minute walk and the waterfront is one of the more striking urban regeneration stories in Ireland. The city centre, Cathedral Quarter pubs and St George’s Market are all within easy reach if you want to make a full day of it. There is more to see in Belfast and across Co. Antrim.
