What to Expect

The Ballysimon Car Boot Sale sets up every Sunday morning at Garryglass Industrial Estate, on the light-industrial stretch of Ballysimon Road running out of Limerick city’s south-east side. It runs on the classic car boot format: sellers pull up and sell straight from the car or a table, buyers browse for bargains across secondhand goods, household items, clothing and the usual mix of car boot finds, and traders take a pitch rather than a shop unit. It has kept a steady following as one of the few regular car boot sales still running on Limerick’s outskirts.

Ballysimon Road is one of the main approach roads into Limerick city from the south-east, feeding traffic in from the wider Golden Vale and linking to the national road network around the city. The industrial estate setting means there is plenty of hard standing and space for cars and vans to pull in and set up, which is part of what has let the sale keep running on the same site on a weekly basis rather than moving between venues, unlike some smaller pop-up sales in the area.
