Cork Non-Fire Night Community Events 2026

At Six community locations across Cork City · Knocknaheeny, Farranree, The Glen, Mayfield, Mahon, Togher, Cork City

Families enjoying community activities at a Cork Non-Fire Night event

What to Expect

On St John’s Eve (23 June 2026), Cork City Council partners with local community committees to run free Non-Fire Night events across six Northside and Southside communities: Knocknaheeny, Farranree, The Glen, Mayfield, Mahon, and Togher. Each location hosts family-friendly activities including play workshops, arts and crafts, sports and games, music, and dance.

The events celebrate the ancient summer solstice tradition in an environmentally friendly way, replacing bonfires with community gatherings. They are organised in close partnership between the City Council and local community groups, making them true neighbourhood celebrations.
