Weekend DJ Nights at Danny Byrne's, Mullingar

Danny Byrne’s on Pearse Street is one of Mullingar’s best known pubs, open seven days a week from 10am to 2am. Live bands play four nights a week, with a DJ taking over for the weekend crowd, and the pub has built up a genuine music pedigree over the years: past acts on its stage include The Blizzards, Ham Sandwich, Damien Dempsey and Paddy Casey, and it is known locally as one of Niall Horan’s favourite spots.

What to expect

Expect a big, sociable pub rather than a nightclub, with live sport across fourteen screens through the day giving way to bands and then a DJ as the night goes on at the weekend. A heated beer garden and smoking area extend the space outdoors, and the pub also runs a free party area for private occasions. Food runs a carvery and sandwich bar until 3pm and an evening menu after that, including a Monday to Thursday steak special, so it works as a food stop earlier in the night before the entertainment picks up. Tuesday is pub quiz night rather than live music, a quieter midweek fixture distinct from the weekend band and DJ format that draws the bigger crowds.
