What to Expect

A spectacular mountain national park offering free admission and family-friendly activities throughout the summer. Highlights include guided family walks (Sundays and Wednesdays, April-October) led by park rangers who point out local wildlife and plants, creative woodland workshops where children help create community woodland bunting and craft woodland puppets, interactive Big Bug Hunt citizen science activities to search for mini-beasts, and Big Butterfly Hunt quizzes. The park also features Glenveagh Castle (built 1867-1873), beautiful gardens, a Visitor Centre, and scenic walking trails.
