Donegal LGFA Junior A Championship 2026

Donegal’s ladies Junior A clubs play a full group-stage round on 9 August 2026. CLG Chill Chartha (Kilcar) host Four Masters at their home grounds, one of three LGFA Junior A Championship games taking place that day.

What to Expect

Junior A is the third tier of Donegal’s ladies football pyramid, with clubs chasing promotion towards Intermediate status. Alongside the Kilcar fixture, Málainn (Malin) host Naomh Mhuire Conmhaigh (Convoy) at Connolly Park, and St Michael’s host Naomh Pádraig, Uisce Chaoin in Dunfanaghy. All three are round-robin group games building towards a knockout stage later in the championship. These fixtures draw smaller crowds than the higher grades but matter just as much to the clubs involved, many of whom are building squads from strong underage numbers. A win keeps promotion hopes alive, while a loss can mean an early exit from the championship for the season.

Getting There

Kilcar is a south-west Donegal village on the R263, close to Killybegs and within reach of the Slieve League cliffs, with pitch-side parking available at the grounds on match days. Dunfanaghy, on the north coast, and Malin, at the northern tip of the Inishowen peninsula, are both roughly an hour and a half from Kilcar by road, so travelling supporters typically plan around one fixture rather than moving between venues.
