At The Button Factory · Curved Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2
Peruvian Day brings a full afternoon and evening of Latin American culture to The Button Factory in Temple Bar on 26 July, marking Peruvian Independence Day with live music, folklore dance, and food. It is organised by Real Events and draws together the Peruvian diaspora in Ireland alongside anyone with a taste for South American culture - a genuinely festive occasion that runs from 3pm to 10pm, so there is plenty of time to settle in.
The programme is built around performance. Perú Fusion, Johnny Arias, and Gabriel Cavagna & band are among the acts confirmed, mixing contemporary Latin sounds with traditional Peruvian folklore. The dance performances are the centrepiece - Peruvian folklore styles such as Marinera and Festejo are visually striking, with elaborate costumes and footwork that are rarely seen on an Irish stage.
Food and drink run alongside the performances throughout the evening. Traditional Peruvian dishes are on offer, and Pisco Sours - Peru’s national cocktail - are a fixture. Prizes and surprises are woven through the night, which keeps things lively well beyond the opening acts.
The Button Factory is well suited to this kind of event. It opened in 1996 as the Temple Bar Music Centre and was redesigned and rebranded in the early 2000s - the name nods to the building’s history as part of a garment factory. The main room holds around 550, with a tiered floor and raised mezzanine, so sightlines are good from most spots. It was named IMRO Live Music Venue of the Year in 2025.
The Button Factory sits on Curved Street in Temple Bar, right in the centre of Dublin. It is walkable from almost anywhere in the city centre in under 15 minutes. The Luas Red Line stops at Jervis, a short walk away, and the Green Line stops at St Stephen’s Green, slightly further but still manageable on foot. Dozens of Dublin Bus routes pass along Dame Street and the quays nearby.
Parking in Temple Bar itself is limited and expensive at weekends. Park and Ride from the Red Cow or Cherrywood Luas stops is a more sensible option if you are driving from outside the city.
Temple Bar is packed with music venues, galleries, and the weekend food market on Meeting House Square. The area rewards a wander before the doors open. There is more to see in Dublin and across Co. Dublin.
