SIN - Dublin's Premier Gothic Club Night

At The Grand Social · 35 Lwr Liffey Street, Dublin 1, Co. Dublin

SIN Gothic Club Night at The Grand Social

SIN is Dublin’s dedicated monthly gathering for fans of gothic, industrial, and alternative music - a proper club night at one of the city’s best small venues, running from 10:30pm through to 2:30am. If you find most nightlife too mainstream and prefer your dancefloors darker and your crowd more considered, this is the one. It draws a mix of long-time goth scene regulars, metalheads, EBM enthusiasts, and curious newcomers who want something beyond the usual top-40 fare. Fetish wear is welcome and the event is openly queer-friendly, so you can expect a crowd that takes the night seriously without taking itself too seriously.

What to expect

The night runs at The Grand Social’s Ballroom space, which has good acoustics and a proper sound system. The music leans across the dark alternative spectrum - Gothic Rock, Industrial, EBM (Electronic Body Music), and Metal all get a look-in. Resident DJ OBSCURA drives the dancefloor, keeping the energy up across the four-hour run. The venue has multiple bars and the atmosphere is relaxed enough between sets to hold a conversation, even if the music is loud on the floor. This is an 18+ event and valid ID will be required on the door. Tickets start from EUR 11.70 and are available via Eventbrite in advance - worth booking ahead rather than chancing it on the door for a night that has been building a following since its launch earlier in the year.

Getting there

The Grand Social sits on Lower Liffey Street, right beside the Ha’Penny Bridge in Dublin city centre. It is one of the more straightforward venues to reach without a car. Dublin Bus serves the quays directly, with numerous routes stopping on Aston Quay and Bachelors Walk within a two-minute walk. The Luas Red Line stops at Jervis, also a short walk away. If you are coming from outside the city, the 747 Aircoach runs to the city centre from Dublin Airport, and Heuston and Connolly stations are both within 20 minutes on foot or a quick taxi. Given the late finish at 2:30am, plan your return - Nitelink buses run through the night on certain routes, and taxis queue along the quays. Parking in the area is metered and limited, so driving is not the obvious choice for a night out here.

While you’re in Dublin

Lower Liffey Street puts you at the edge of Dublin’s north inner city, a short walk from Temple Bar, the cultural quarter, and the quays. There is more to see in Dublin and across Co. Dublin.
