Dingle Folk Concerts 2026

At St. James' Church · Main Street, Dingle, Co. Kerry

Musicians performing traditional folk music inside St. James' Church, Dingle

What to Expect

Dingle Folk Concerts is a long-running series, now in its 25th-plus year, hosted inside the 200-year-old St. James’ Church on Dingle’s Main Street. The uilleann piper Eoin Duignan hosts most nights, bringing together a rotating line-up of traditional Irish musicians and singers on guitar, fiddle, pipes and occasionally harp, with a short spoken introduction to the music and instruments between sets. The church’s stone walls give the room a natural, warm acoustic that suits solo voices and small ensembles particularly well, and the atmosphere is relaxed rather than formal, closer to a session than a staged performance.

The church is also the home of the Other Voices TV series, so the room has hosted everyone from local sessions musicians to internationally known acts over the years, and the folk concerts trade on that same intimate, listening-room feel. Visiting artists change from night to night, so two evenings in the same week can sound quite different, from solo song to a full traditional set with pipes and fiddle. It suits visitors passing through Dingle for a single evening as much as regulars who come back across the season, and it is one of the more reliable places in town to hear live traditional music without booking a table at a pub session first.
