There is no single fixed showtime; tour slots run through the day and vary by season, so this is a book-ahead-and-turn-up experience rather than a one-off date, and it works as an easy add-on to a day spent on the Ring of Kerry or Skellig Ring driving routes.

What to expect

Three tour formats run side by side. The standard Distillery Tour, at €25, is led by a local storyteller through the production process with tastings included. The Gin & Whiskey Tasting Experience, at €20, pairs a shorter guided walk-through with tastings of both spirits, and the dedicated Gin Experience Tour, at €19, focuses purely on the distillery’s gins with two tastings. For a smaller, more curated visit, the Snug Experience offers an intimate tasting session for small groups. All tours are strictly for adults, and the distillery recommends booking online in advance, particularly through summer when slots fill fastest. A separate Distillers’ Selection Tour, with a fully tutored tasting of five contrasting whiskeys, is also available at €50 per person.

Getting there

The distillery is on the Valentia Road just outside Cahirciveen on the Ring of Kerry, with its own on-site car park. Cahirciveen is roughly two hours’ drive from Killarney via the N70, so most visitors combine the tour with a wider day touring the Iveragh Peninsula.

The town is a good base for Valentia Island and the Skellig Ring, both a short drive away. There is more to see in Cahirciveen and across Co. Kerry.
