At Global Cake Toppers · Global Cake Toppers, Dublin
A week-long baking and cake decorating camp for children aged 7 to 14, run by Global Cake Toppers at their studio in Knocklyon, Dublin 16. It runs from Monday 7 July to Friday 11 July, 9:30am to 1:30pm each day, and it is the kind of thing kids talk about for the rest of the summer - hands-on, creative, and they bring home everything they make. The €165 fee covers all materials, so there is nothing extra to buy beyond a packed lunch and a water bottle.
Global Cake Toppers is the studio of Anjali, an award-winning sugarcraft artist who has won the Irish Sugarcraft Show in Dublin twice - in 2016 and again in 2020 - and who also judges at Cake International in the UK, one of the largest cake decorating competitions in the world. The children’s camp draws on that expertise in a way that is genuinely hands-on rather than just watching a demonstration.
Over the five days, children work through a structured set of techniques:
All equipment is provided in the studio. Each child leaves on Friday with their creations and a certificate of completion. The studio keeps class sizes small, so there is real one-to-one attention during the week. Parents are asked to flag any food allergies or medical conditions when booking.
Global Cake Toppers is at 3 Knocklyon Court, Dublin 16, on the southside of the city. Knocklyon is accessible by Dublin Bus - several routes run through Templeogue and Knocklyon from the city centre. By car it is a straightforward drive from the M50, with free parking on site.
The southside suburbs around Knocklyon sit close to the foothills of the Dublin Mountains, with Marlay Park and the Wicklow Way trailhead a short drive away - worth a loop if a parent has a free morning while camp is on. There is more to see in Dublin and across Co. Dublin.
