Public Consultation: County Kilkenny Speed Limit Bye-Laws 2026

What to Expect

Kilkenny County Council opened a public consultation on 16 July 2026 on its Draft County Kilkenny Road Traffic Special Speed Limit Bye-Laws 2026, which set out proposed speed limits on roads across the county. The consultation runs on the council’s online portal, where residents can read the draft bye-laws and supporting documents and make a written submission before the window closes at 4pm on Tuesday 1 September 2026. As of early August the portal showed a single submission received, so there is still a real opportunity for local input before the deadline.

This is the kind of town hall consultation that does not have a single public meeting date attached, but instead runs as an open written submission period, which is how most of Kilkenny County Council’s statutory consultations are now run.
