What to Expect

The Killybegs Classic Car Show, also known as the Albert Kyles Memorial Classic Car Show, takes over Mooney Boats Yard on Shore Road for an afternoon of vintage, classic and modern collectible vehicles from across Donegal and further afield. It runs from 12pm to 4pm on Sunday, August 16, 2026, and is organised by the Donegal Vintage, Classic Car and Heritage Club, one of the county’s active vintage vehicle clubs that also turns out for tractor runs and heritage events elsewhere in Donegal through the year. The boatyard setting on the working harbour at Killybegs, Ireland’s premier fishing port, gives the show a different backdrop to a typical car show field or car park, with trawlers and harbour cranes as a backdrop to the rows of polished bonnets. It’s a family-friendly event and free for the public to walk around, with the club also using the day to remember Albert Kyles, after whom the show is named.

Getting There

Killybegs is on the N56 on the south Donegal coast, about 20 minutes from Donegal Town, and Mooney Boats Yard is on Shore Road along the harbour front, close to the town centre. Given the number of vehicles expected, arriving a little before the 12pm start is worthwhile, and visitors should expect some road-side parking in the harbour area to fill up once the show gets going.
