What to Expect

Adare Craft Market runs every Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 5pm, giving one of Ireland’s most-visited heritage villages a weekend stall trade separate from its weekday shopfronts. Expect handcrafted goods and artisan products rather than fresh food, with makers selling items such as jewellery, textiles, woodwork and other locally-made pieces aimed at the steady flow of day-trippers and tourists the village draws year-round. Because it runs both days of the weekend, it functions differently from Adare’s other weekly markets, which tend to be single-day, produce-led events.

Adare is a small village of around 1,100 people, but it punches well above its size as a visitor destination thanks to its thatched cottages near the entrance to Adare Manor, the ruins of Desmond Castle, and three medieval monastic sites within the village itself. Adare Manor, now a luxury resort, is scheduled to host the centenary Ryder Cup in 2027, and the weekend footfall that heritage tourism already brings to the village is a large part of what supports a craft market running two days a week rather than one.

Getting There

Adare village is on the N21, about 16km southwest of Limerick city. The craft market trades within the village itself, an easy walk from the main street’s shops, cafes and Adare Heritage Centre. On-street and village car parking is available nearby.
