Live at the Docklands Limerick 2026

At Limerick Docks · The Docks, Limerick, Co. Limerick

Live at the Docklands concert series

Block Rockin Beats is the show on 15 August at Live at the Docklands, Limerick’s annual open-air concert series run by the team behind Dolan’s, one of the country’s most respected live music venues. The format is a full live band tearing through the world’s biggest dance anthems, and it is the kind of show that suits people who want a proper night out - standing, moving, singing along - rather than a sit-down affair. It is strictly over-18s only, so this is solidly an adults’ evening.

What to expect

Live at the Docklands takes place inside a large marquee on Atlas Avenue, just off the Dock Road on the banks of the River Shannon. The marquee means the event goes ahead rain or shine, which is a sensible call in an Irish August. Block Rockin Beats is TodayFM presenter Dec Pierce’s live show, built around the biggest dance tracks of the last few decades performed with a full live band and special guests. The atmosphere tends towards festival-crowd energy - expect a mix of ages, a lot of dancing, and the kind of crowd that knows the words to everything. Bar and food facilities are on site. The series regularly sells out in advance, so picking up tickets early is worth doing rather than chancing it on the night.

Getting there

Limerick city is on the main Dublin - Limerick - Cork rail line, with regular services from Heuston Station taking around two hours. Bus Eireann coaches also connect Limerick to most of the country. From Limerick Colbert Station the Docklands site is about a 15 to 20 minute walk along the Dock Road, or a short taxi ride. The venue entrance is via Atlas Avenue, across from Casey’s Garage - that is the only way in. There is no parking at the venue itself, so driving and parking nearby then walking is the practical approach; the Dock Road has some street parking and the city centre car parks are not far. Public transport in and out is the easier option if you are coming from further away.

While you’re in Limerick

Limerick repays an overnight stay - the Treaty City has good restaurants along the quays, the Hunt Museum, and King John’s Castle by the river. If you are travelling in from outside the city, building in a meal before the show makes a relaxed evening of it. There is more to see in Limerick and across Co. Limerick.
