Drag brunch has found its perfect home in Limerick, and this one pulls no punches. The Pop Divas Drag Brunch with Mockie Ah! is three hours of live performance, free-flowing prosecco, and a brunch course served in 101’s Secret Garden - a hidden rooftop space above O’Connell Street. The event runs during Limerick Pride weekend, which gives it an extra charge of celebration. It suits hen parties, birthdays, and groups of friends after something more memorable than a Sunday roast, but solo visitors are just as welcome.
The Mockie Ah! queens have been running sell-out drag brunches across Ireland, and this Pop Divas edition centres on female music icons - Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Madonna, Cher, Shania Twain, Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, Charli XCX, and Ariana Grande all get their moment. Expect lip-sync performances, costume drama, and hosts who will pull audience members into the fun whether they volunteer or not.
Your ticket covers a brunch course, free-flowing prosecco or mimosas (non-alcoholic alternatives available on request), the full drag show, audience games with prizes, and a DJ spinning pop, disco, and club classics throughout. There is also a Best Dressed prize, so if you want to go all-out, the crowd will reward it.
Doors open at 1 pm and the last entry is 1:30 pm sharp - the show runs to 4 pm. The venue is 101 on O’Connell Street, a multi-level bar and entertainment space with ten distinct rooms spread across four floors. The Secret Garden rooftop is the setting here, a covered outdoor space in the middle of the city. 101 also houses Maggie Choo’s, a basement Irish bar, a piano bar, and the Opium club - it is the kind of venue that does events well.
This event is 18+ only, and tickets are not refundable. Groups who book separately should contact bookings@101limerick.com or call 061 597164 to arrange to be seated together. Groups of ten or more should go directly to Mockie Ah! via info@mockieah.com or @mockieah on Instagram.
Limerick city centre is well connected by road from all directions. From Dublin, it is roughly two hours on the M7. From Cork, take the N20 north - about an hour and a half. Bus Eireann and GoBus both run regular services into Limerick, with the main bus station on Parnell Street a short walk from O’Connell Street. Irish Rail serves Colbert Station, also central.
101 is on O’Connell Street itself, Limerick’s main thoroughfare, so it is easy to find on foot once you are in the city. Paid parking is available at the Arthur’s Quay car park and the Limerick Civic Trust car park, both within walking distance. On a Sunday afternoon, city-centre parking is generally easier than weekday traffic would suggest.
Limerick Pride runs across the same July weekend, so the city has an energetic atmosphere well beyond the brunch itself. The King John’s Castle and the Hunt Museum are both a short walk from O’Connell Street for anyone making a full day of it. There is more to see in Limerick and across Co. Limerick.
