Round 4 of the Whitebox County Senior Hurling Championship group stage lands on Thursday, 3 September 2026, with six matches played simultaneously across club grounds in Limerick. The standout fixture is Ahane against Kilmallock in Group 1, two of the most successful clubs in Limerick hurling history meeting with group placings on the line. Group 1 also sees Doon face Na Piarsaigh and Ballybrown take on Monaleen, while Group 2 pairs Patrickswell with Adare, Kildimo-Pallaskenry with Garryspillane, and Mungret/St Paul’s with Newcastle West. By round four, every result matters for the run-in to the knockout stages.
Ahane, based around Castleconnell and long associated with the legendary Mick Mackey, carry serious history into their Group 1 meeting with Kilmallock, one of the most decorated clubs in the county and a regular producer of county players. Elsewhere in Group 1, Na Piarsaigh, All-Ireland club champions in recent years, face a Doon side fighting to keep their campaign alive, and Ballybrown meet Monaleen in another tight tie. Group 2 is just as competitive: Patrickswell, the most successful club in Limerick hurling with around 20 county titles, take on Adare, while Kildimo-Pallaskenry face Garryspillane and Mungret/St Paul’s host Newcastle West. As with every round of this group stage, throw-in across all six games is 12:00pm, and venues are confirmed by the host clubs in the days beforehand rather than fixed in advance.
Limerick city sits at the junction of the M7 and M20 motorways, with direct road links from Dublin, Cork and Galway. Irish Rail serves Colbert Station from Dublin Heuston, Cork Kent and Ennis, and Bus Eireann and Expressway coaches connect from most county towns. Club grounds for this round are spread across the county, so a car is the practical option once the venues are confirmed.
