What to Expect

The Maiden City Festival is Derry’s annual celebration of the city’s Protestant and unionist heritage, running for over a week in late July and early August. The 2026 edition is the 28th festival and includes traditional pipe band performances and competitions, historical re-enactments along the city walls, guided tours of St Columb’s Cathedral, tea dances, musical performances and a range of family events. The full programme is expected to be announced closer to the festival dates.
