Mamma Mia The Live Experience brings The DynamosNI to the Hillgrove Hotel in Monaghan town for a full tribute show built around the ABBA songbook - live vocals, choreography, glitter and a DJ keeping the disco energy going between sets. It suits birthdays, girls’ nights out, or anyone who simply wants a proper night of singing along to songs they have loved for decades.
The DynamosNI are a Northern Ireland-based tribute act known for high-energy ABBA shows with strong live vocals and costume recreations that lean into the full 1970s aesthetic. On the night you can expect all the anthems - Dancing Queen, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!, Voulez-Vous, Waterloo and Mamma Mia itself - delivered with genuine choreography rather than a band standing still at microphone stands. A host works the room between numbers, spinning 70s and 80s disco classics and keeping the singalong going. Past shows at the Hillgrove have sold out; this format travels well and the Monaghan audience tends to come dressed for it. The hotel also offers overnight stay packages for those coming from further afield - worth checking directly with the hotel if that suits.
Monaghan town sits on the N2 from Dublin (roughly 130km, under two hours on a clear run) and the N54 from Cavan. From Belfast the A3 brings you south through Armagh and into Monaghan in around 1 hour 20 minutes. The Hillgrove Hotel is on the Old Armagh Road on the northern edge of town, well signposted and with its own car park. Bus Eireann routes connect Monaghan to Dublin and Cavan; the town’s bus stop is a short taxi ride from the hotel. If you are travelling from Enniskillen, the A4 and then A3 is a straightforward cross-border run of about 45 minutes.
