Neil Delamere: Reinventing the Neil at Feile An Phobail

At The Devenish Complex · Finaghy Road North, Belfast, BT11 9EE

Neil Delamere stand-up comedy at The Devenish Complex Belfast

Neil Delamere is one of Ireland’s most recognisable stand-up comedians - a regular on British and Irish television for well over a decade - and “Reinventing the Neil” is his biggest touring show in years. On Saturday 1 August 2026 he brings it to The Devenish Complex in west Belfast as part of Féile an Phobail, the city’s massive community arts and culture festival. If you enjoy sharp observational comedy delivered by someone who genuinely knows how to work a room, this is a good night out.

What to expect

The show takes its premise from a question Delamere has been turning over for a while: should you change an act that is already working? The answer, delivered over a full evening of stand-up, is a set built from tall tales and personal stories, with the kind of confident timing that comes from years on the circuit. Delamere is well known to Irish audiences from RTÉ’s The Blame Game, and to wider British audiences through Live at the Apollo, QI, and Celebrity Chase.

The Devenish gig sits inside the Féile an Phobail programme, which in 2026 runs from 25 July to 9 August across more than 50 venues in Belfast. The festival is the largest community arts festival in Ireland, and the 2026 edition - its biggest to date with over 700 events and 120,000 expected visitors - also overlaps with Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann (2-9 August), making this a particularly busy and lively week to be in the city. The comedy strand at Féile has always attracted strong names, and an evening at The Devenish fits comfortably alongside the festival’s broader programme of music, talks, and street events.

Getting there

The Devenish Complex is on Finaghy Road North in south-west Belfast, and is unusually well connected for a live venue. Finaghy railway station is right beside it, with regular Translink trains running from Belfast Central and Great Victoria Street. Metro bus services along the Falls Road and Andersonstown corridors also serve the area. If you are driving, the complex is a short hop from the M1 and has free on-site car parking.

While you’re in Belfast

August in Belfast during Féile and the Fleadh is a genuinely rare thing - the city has an energy to it that is hard to find at other times of year. There are hundreds of events within easy reach of The Devenish across the festival fortnight, from outdoor concerts to political talks to the Féile Carnival Parade. There is more to see in Belfast and across Co. Antrim.
