At The Harbour Bar (Upstairs) · 1 Strand Road, Bray, Co. Wicklow, A98 D308
Irish comedian Katie Boyle tries out new material at The Harbour Bar in Bray on Wednesday, 22 July 2026, as part of her Work In Progress run. Boyle, who is based in New York and made her US television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in March 2026, built her name on stand-up about American culture, dating, therapy and shame. The Bray show is an intimate, upstairs room date, seated first come first served, over 18s only.
Work In Progress shows are exactly that: a working comedian testing new jokes and bits in front of a live room before they make it into a full special, so material is looser and less polished than a finished tour show, often with more audience interaction. Boyle performed as a New Face at the 2023 Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal and has released two specials, I’ll Do It Myself (2023), which has drawn half a million YouTube views, and Terapy (2025). Outside stand-up she produces a comedy show at the Dead Rabbit in New York and hosts The Shift, a podcast on sex and dating from an Irish perspective. Doors at the Harbour Bar’s upstairs room open at 8pm with the show starting at 8:30pm, and seating is first come, first served rather than allocated.
The Harbour Bar is at 1 Strand Road in Bray, right on the seafront and a short walk from Bray DART and railway station on the Dublin to Rosslare line. The comedy room is upstairs in the pub, with entry from street level.
The Harbour Bar itself is worth arriving early for, one of Bray’s oldest pubs and a regular home for comedy nights including the monthly Hardy Har Comedy Club. There is more to see in Bray and across Co. Wicklow.
