At The Academy · 57 Middle Abbey Street, Dublin 1
Northlane have built one of the most devoted followings in heavy music on the back of six studio albums that have consistently pushed metalcore somewhere more interesting. Formed in Sydney in 2009, the band blend progressive metal, electronic textures and industrial weight into something dense and physical - their records reward close listening but it is their live show that converts casual fans into lifers. The Dublin headline date at The Academy on 3 August 2026 is a tight, high-energy room show from a band who play festivals by August yet still choose mid-size venues for the intimacy it creates with their audience. If you follow heavy music seriously, this is one of the cleaner tickets of the summer.
Northlane’s catalogue spans from the technical post-hardcore of their early records through to the industrial heaviness of Alien (2019) and the meticulous Obsidian (2022), with the 2025 anniversary release Node: Reloaded rekindling interest in their earlier work. Live sets tend to pull across the whole run rather than leaning on any single era, which rewards both long-time fans and anyone arriving from a more recent song. The band are known for precision without losing energy - complex rhythmic arrangements delivered with the kind of force that makes a room feel considerably smaller than its listed capacity.
Support comes from Graphic Nature, a British nu-metalcore band from Kent who have been building serious momentum through 2025 and 2026, including a headline run of their own. This is not filler support - they are worth arriving on time for. The Academy Main Room holds around 833 with the balcony included, which keeps the atmosphere concentrated. This is a standing, general admission floor show with balcony seating above. Over 18s only; bring valid photo ID.
