The Royal Landing is an annual summer pageant in Carrickfergus commemorating King William III’s arrival on Irish soil in June 1690. In 2026, the event features re-enactors, historical costumes, live music, and a ceremonial parade through the town. Parades leave assembly points at approximately 11:30am, with the re-enactment landing at King William III Pier expected at 1:00pm. King William III then leads a parade on his white horse through the town to Marine Gardens, where proceedings conclude around 2:00pm.
Family entertainment, market stalls, and food vendors are part of the programme. Thousands of spectators are expected for the event, which has grown into one of the largest summer pageants on the Antrim coast.
