At Longford-Drumlish Community Sports Hub · Drumlish, Co. Longford
STARCAMP has been running summer camps across Ireland since 2007, and the Longford edition brings that well-tested formula to Drumlish Community Sports Hub for a full week of performing arts, outdoor play, and confidence-building activities. Week 5 runs Monday 27 July to Friday 31 July, 9am to 2pm daily, for children aged 4 to 12. If you have a child who lights up on a stage or who needs a gentle push to find their feet around other kids, this is a well-structured week to do it.
The 2026 STARCAMP theme is circus, and it runs through everything the children do. Two programmes run in parallel to keep activities age-appropriate.
The 4 to 8 age group get clowning games, balance activities, singing and dancing, circus crafts, magic tricks, treasure hunts, and a teddy bear circus party - the week wraps with a little circus show put on by the children themselves. The 8 to 12 age group (STARCREW) focus on ringmaster skills, circus-style challenges, music and choreography, presenting, and outdoor adventures, building toward a group performance.
The venue is a purpose-built community facility with a large indoor hall and an all-weather Astro turf pitch, so the programme runs rain or shine. Free early drop-off is available from 8:45am.
Drumlish is a small village in north County Longford, roughly 15 minutes from Longford town on the N4. The sports hub sits just off that road, so it is easy to reach by car from Longford town, Granard, or Strokestown. There is on-site parking. Bus Eireann serves the Longford - Dublin route via the N4, but the village itself is rural, so driving is the practical choice for most families.
Drumlish has a strong community sports culture and this hub is a genuine local asset. The wider county has lough fishing, forest walks at Lough Forbes, and the heritage town of Granard a short drive away. There is more to see in Drumlish and across Co. Longford.
