At St John's Pastoral Centre · John's Hill, Waterford, Co. Waterford, X91 HW9D
Laudate is an evening of prayer, worship and reflection organised by the Diocese of Waterford & Lismore, running from 5pm to 6pm on Sunday 23 August 2026 at St John’s Pastoral Centre on John’s Hill in Waterford city. The session is led by Fr Patrick Cahill and is aimed at adults aged 18 and over, combining worship music with a period of guided prayer and quiet reflection. Afterwards there is tea and an informal chat, giving attendees a chance to meet others from around the diocese in a relaxed setting rather than heading straight home. The event was promoted through parish newsletters across the diocese, including Tramore and Carbally, as an open, diocese-wide invitation rather than a single parish’s own event, and it doubles as a small fundraiser, with donations on the evening going toward the diocese’s World Youth Day 2027 fund. The diocese has run occasional events of this kind through 2026, including a Healing Service at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity in July, and Laudate follows that same pattern of one-off prayer gatherings held outside the normal parish Mass schedule, aimed at drawing people from across Waterford and south Tipperary rather than from one parish alone.
St John’s Pastoral Centre is on John’s Hill on the eastern side of Waterford city, a short drive or bus ride from the city centre, with parking available on site.
