West Clare Challenge Charity Cycle 2026

What to Expect

The West Clare Challenge Charity Cycle is an annual fundraising cycle starting and finishing in Kilrush, on the southern edge of County Clare. Participants choose between a 90km route, which is e-bike friendly, or a more challenging 160km route that takes in the full Loop Head Peninsula, passing through Atlantic coastal roads and past Loop Head Lighthouse. The event raises funds for four local Clare charities. All cycling levels are catered for on the 90km route.

The ride takes in some of the most dramatic scenery in the west of Ireland, with views over the Shannon estuary on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other.

Getting There

Kilrush is located on the southern shore of County Clare, approximately 55km south-west of Ennis via the N68. Parking is available in Kilrush town centre near the marina area.
