At Belvedere House Gardens and Park · Belvedere House Gardens and Park, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath
Belvedere House Gardens and Park’s Food and Apple Festival takes over the estate on Sunday 6 September 2026, from 10am to 5pm, celebrating the heritage of the Belvedere apple variety that gives the event its name. It is one of the fixed dates in Belvedere’s autumn calendar, timed to the start of the apple harvest in the estate’s historic walled gardens.
The festival brings together local food producers and artisan makers on the grounds, alongside family entertainment and apple-themed activities that draw on the estate’s own orchards. Belvedere House has grown apples in its walled gardens for generations, and the festival gives visitors a chance to taste and buy produce connected to that history alongside the wider spread of stalls from Westmeath food businesses. The day is aimed squarely at families, with entertainment programmed through the afternoon rather than concentrated at one point, and it sits within Belvedere’s wider grounds of parkland, follies and lakeshore walks along Lough Ennell, so there is plenty to combine a festival visit with. Booking is handled through the estate’s online system, and visitors should check belvedere-house.ie closer to the date for the full stallholder list and entertainment schedule.
Belvedere House is a short drive from Mullingar town centre on the Tullamore road, on the shore of Lough Ennell, with on-site parking for festival visitors.
Belvedere’s 160 acres of gardens and parkland make it one of the county’s best known heritage estates, and the festival is a good excuse to see the walled garden in its productive season. There is more to see in Mullingar and across Co. Westmeath.
