Wilde Stages: Dublin Queer Theatre Festival 2026

At Various Venues · Dublin City Centre

Performers at Wilde Stages Dublin Queer Theatre Festival 2026

What to Expect

Wilde Stages, newly rebranded from the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival, returns from 4 to 17 May 2026 with one of its largest ever programmes. Under new artistic director Sean Denyer, the festival launches its rebranded identity with close to 30 shows and events featuring companies from five continents and eight countries, making it one of the most internationally diverse theatre events in the Irish calendar.

The programme spans comedy, drama, dance, physical theatre and musicals, with a strong presence of new Irish writing sitting alongside international work from Australia, South Africa, Canada and elsewhere. Five venues across Dublin will host the festival, creating a genuine citywide celebration of queer storytelling and performance.

The rebrand to Wilde Stages is a natural evolution for a festival that has always been committed to the broadest possible range of voices, and the 2026 programme reflects that ambition in every sense.
