Dublin Premium VIP Small Group Tour Jameson & Guinness Storehouse

About This Tour

Dublin’s two most famous drinks, done properly in four hours. This isn’t the solo visitor experience you’d piece together yourself - it’s a small-group tour with a maximum of 15 people, timed skip-the-line access at both Jameson Distillery and the Guinness Storehouse, and an award-winning local guide who actually knows the stories behind both places.

The day covers Jameson on Bow Street in Smithfield, a stop at The Brazen Head - Ireland’s oldest pub, with records of a hostelry on this site going back to 1198 - and then the Guinness Storehouse at St James’s Gate, finishing with your pint at the Gravity Bar. Between the whiskey samples at Jameson, the glass of Guinness and the Jameson whiskey drink included in the tour, you’re well looked after for drinks. What you’re really paying for is the company and the context.

The stop at The Brazen Head sits between the two main venues. Your guide tells the story of Robert Emmet, the young leader of the United Irishmen rebellion who was a regular here, and takes you past his execution spot nearby. There’s been a hostelry on this site since 1198 - decades before official licensing laws even existed in Ireland - and being inside it with someone who knows how to tell that history is a different experience from wandering in off the street.

Local Tips

Smithfield is worth a look before the tour starts. The square in front of the Jameson Distillery is one of Dublin’s more underrated open spaces - a cobblestoned plaza that used to be a horse market. If you’re early, walk the square and get a feel for the neighbourhood before your guide arrives.

The Jameson tasting at the end of the distillery visit is the highlight for most people. You’ll learn the difference between Irish, Scotch, and bourbon before tasting, so it’s an actual education rather than a quick pour. Come with a little curiosity about what you’re drinking and you’ll get more out of it.

The Brazen Head is easy to underestimate. It looks like a pub, it feels like a pub, and in a sense it is - but the layers underneath are remarkable. The guide’s story of Robert Emmet and the United Irishmen changes how the building feels. Don’t treat this stop as a break between the two main venues; it’s one of the best parts of the day.

The Gravity Bar pint tastes better with the panorama. Most people spend their time at the Guinness Storehouse in the lower floors reading about hops and fermentation, which is interesting enough. The real payoff is the glass-walled bar at the top with your included pint and a 360-degree view of the city. Give yourself time up there.

This tour runs in English and French, which means the dynamic in your group of 15 might be more international than you’d expect. That tends to make the pub stops more enjoyable - there’s always something to talk about when people arrive from different places.
