Game of Thrones Studio Tour Admission and Transfer from Dublin

About This Tour

There is only one official Game of Thrones Studio Tour in the world, and it’s here in Ireland - at Linen Mill Studios in Banbridge, County Down. This is the actual filming location. The price covers full admission and a return coach from central Dublin, so there’s nothing to figure out on the day.

The studio itself is genuinely something. You’ll stand on the real sets - the Great Hall of Winterfell, Dragonstone, the throne room in King’s Landing - preserved exactly as they were when filming wrapped. The original costumes worn by the show’s characters are here, alongside props, weapons, and behind-the-scenes footage that shows you how the production actually worked. Interactive exhibits and hands-on effects are woven throughout, and there’s a merchandise shop stocked with exclusive items you won’t find anywhere else.

When you’re ready for a break, the themed café is on site, and afternoon tea is also an option if you want to make a proper occasion of it.

The coach departs from the Molly Malone Statue in Dublin city centre. Look out for guides in Irish Day Tours uniforms near the statue - they’ll get you sorted. The journey to Linen Mill Studios takes around 90 minutes each way. Banbridge itself is about 30 minutes from Belfast, so you’re getting a proper trip into the north.

Audio guides are available to purchase on site in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Chinese.

Local Tips

Arrive at the Molly Malone Statue with a few minutes to spare. The statue is on Grafton Street and easy to find, but the surrounding area is busy in the morning. Getting there 10 minutes early means you’re not rushing past buskers and coffee queues with your bag, and you’ll have a moment to spot the Irish Day Tours guides before they start rounding people up.

The themed café is worth budgeting time for. Most people do a full circuit of the studio first and then realise they’ve only left themselves 20 minutes for food. Plan your visit around a proper lunch or afternoon tea break midway through - the café is part of the experience, not an afterthought, and the themed dining options lean into the world of the show.

Bring a portable charger. You’re going to take a lot of photos. The studio is dim in places - deliberately atmospheric - so your phone will be working harder than usual, and the last thing you want is a dead battery before you reach the King’s Landing throne room.

The audio guide is genuinely worth it. It’s an extra cost on site, but it adds a layer of detail that the walk-around experience alone doesn’t give you - production notes, character context, how certain effects were achieved. If you’re a serious fan of the show, it pays for itself within the first 30 minutes.

Banbridge is close to some interesting County Down countryside if you want to extend your day on the way back. The coach returns you to Dublin, but it’s worth knowing that the Mourne Mountains are not far from Linen Mill Studios if you’re considering a self-drive visit another day.
