100 Cities Project Galway: Dinner with New Friends

At The Long Walk area · The Long Walk, Galway City, H91 E9XA

A shared restaurant table set for a 100 Cities Project dinner in Galway

What to Expect

100 Cities Project is a recurring supper club that puts small groups of strangers around one table at a locally-owned Galway restaurant, on the idea that it is easy to end up isolated when you are busy building a career or a life in a new place. Each sitting seats four to six people together, and organisers send an introductory email once you are booked in, followed by final details, including the actual restaurant, closer to the date itself. The restaurant is deliberately kept independent and local rather than a chain, though which one it is varies by sitting. Food and drink are paid for separately by each guest on the night. What the ticket actually buys is a seat at the table plus ongoing membership in the wider 100 Cities community, which means regular members get invited to further dinners beyond whatever is on the public calendar at any given time, run by the group behind it, Ermantourage Europe and US. It is aimed less at food tourism and more at the format itself, structured small-group dinners as a way to meet people, so anyone going in expecting a chef-led tasting menu should adjust expectations, the point is the conversation as much as the meal. Because dates and restaurants shift sitting to sitting, the most reliable way to know exactly where dinner is happening is to book and wait for the organisers’ email, or to contact them directly with questions before committing.
