What to Expect

The Adare Market runs every Friday and Saturday at the Town Hall in the heart of Adare village, with fresh local produce, plants, artisan crafts and other locally-made goods from stallholders across County Limerick. Running two days back to back gives it a broader, more general-shopping character than the village’s other weekend craft-only market, mixing food and plants in with the crafts. Set in the middle of Adare’s village centre, it draws both locals doing a regular shop and visitors passing through one of Ireland’s best-known heritage villages.

Adare has a population of around 1,100 and is best known for the thatched cottages near the entrance to Adare Manor, the ruins of Desmond Castle on the River Maigue, and three medieval monastic sites within the village. Adare Manor, now a five-star resort, is due to host the centenary Ryder Cup in 2027. That heritage-tourism pull is a large part of why a village this size can support several weekly markets rather than just one, with the Town Hall market functioning as the more everyday, produce-and-plants version alongside the craft-focused weekend stalls elsewhere in the village.

Getting There

Adare Town Hall is centrally located on Adare’s main street, an easy walk from the village’s shops and restaurants. Adare sits on the N21, about 16km southwest of Limerick city, with ample parking available nearby.
