Carrickfergus Castle, one of the best-preserved Norman castles in Ireland, welcomes families throughout summer 2026 with interactive activities for children. Highlights include dressing up in medieval costumes, playing life-size chess in the keep, climbing spiral staircases and exploring the battlements with their collection of historic cannon. Summer school holiday weekends bring storytelling sessions and knight-themed activities. The castle also has a sensory room for visitors with additional needs.
