What to Expect

Massereene U3A is the local branch of the University of the Third Age covering Antrim and the surrounding area, a self-help learning and social organisation for people no longer in full-time work. The group uses the meeting facilities at Antrim Library for its monthly gathering, which centres on an invited guest speaker covering a different topic each time - past and forthcoming subjects have included local history figure Mary Anne McCracken, the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, and Causeway Coast heritage. Beyond the monthly meeting, Massereene U3A also runs smaller interest groups throughout the month, including a book club and an Irish language class, giving members ways to stay engaged, keep learning and build friendships in retirement.

Good to Know

• Meets on the fourth Friday of the month at 10.30am, running September to June (no meeting in December, when a Christmas lunch is held instead).
• Venue: Antrim Library, 10 Railway Street, Antrim BT41 4AE.
• Free to attend for members; visitors are welcome to come along to see a meeting before joining.
• Each session features a guest speaker on a different subject, followed by tea, coffee and conversation.

• Library membership is free and gives access to Libraries NI’s wider book and digital collections.

Getting There

Antrim Library is on Railway Street in Antrim town centre, a short walk from Antrim railway station and the town’s bus centre. On-street parking and the nearby Railway Street car park are available for those driving.
