What to Expect

Community Connect is a practical, family-friendly event organised by Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council at Antrim Forum, designed to help local residents prepare for the new school year while getting support to stay well, stay safe and stay connected. More than 50 partner organisations and services take part, spanning community support, health, employment, housing, safety and council services, all under one roof for a single afternoon. The event is split into themed zones: a Ready for School area offering uniform and accessory support, a Wellbeing Zone with complimentary therapies and health checks, Community Connections introducing local charities and support groups, a Money Matters area covering benefits, pensions and housing advice, and a Stay Safe section with first aid demonstrations and emergency services on hand. Entertainment for children runs throughout, including a bouncy castle, live music, line dancing, arts and crafts, boccia and armchair curling.
