Art Workshop with Angela Tuite

Artist Angela Tuite returns to the Maria Edgeworth Centre in Edgeworthstown on Thursday, 17 September 2026, for a two-hour acrylic painting workshop aimed at anyone who fancies picking up a brush, regardless of experience. Running from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, the session promises a finished canvas by the end of the evening, and no previous painting experience is required to take part.

What to expect

Tuite is a Westmeath-based artist influenced by impressionism who works across canvas, silk, wood and slate, usually drawing on nature-based themes and bold colour. In this session she guides participants through acrylic painting techniques on a deep-edged canvas, building skills and confidence stroke by stroke in a small, supportive group rather than a formal class setting. Everyone works at their own pace on their own piece, and Tuite moves around the room offering guidance and tips as needed rather than running a rigid step-by-step demonstration. All paints, brushes and canvases are supplied, so participants need bring nothing but themselves, and everyone takes their finished piece of art home at the end of the night. Spaces are limited, so early booking is recommended for what has become a regular fixture at the centre.

The Maria Edgeworth Centre is on the Ballymahon Road in Edgeworthstown, on the N4 between Longford town and Mullingar, with parking available around the town centre, a short walk from the venue.
