What to Expect

Bantry House is one of Ireland’s finest stately homes, perched above Bantry Bay with spectacular views across the water to the Caha Mountains. Open since 1946 as one of the first Irish private houses to welcome the public, it contains extraordinary collections of tapestries, Russian icons, French furniture, Flemish paintings, Aubusson carpets, and Chinese porcelain. The formal Italian terraced gardens overlook the bay and are considered among Ireland’s most beautiful. The house also hosts summer events including cultural evenings and craft fairs.

Getting There

Bantry House is on the western edge of Bantry town, clearly signposted from the N71. Bantry is approximately 85km south-west of Cork city.
