East Antrim U3A Monthly Meeting - Carrickfergus

What to Expect

East Antrim U3A is a University of the Third Age branch serving Carrickfergus and the wider East Antrim area, welcoming anyone no longer in full-time employment who wants to keep learning, stay social and try something new. The group’s monthly general meeting is its main gathering point, held at Joymount Church Hall next to Carrickfergus Library, and typically combines club business, a guest speaker or talk, and time to catch up with other members over tea. Alongside the monthly meeting, East Antrim U3A runs a range of smaller interest groups covering subjects from walking and history to arts and languages, which meet separately throughout the month for members who want a more regular commitment.

Good to Know

• Meets on the third Monday of the month, 2pm to 4pm, at Joymount Church Hall, Carrickfergus.
• Free to attend; prospective members are welcome to visit a meeting before deciding to join.
• Membership is open to anyone retired or semi-retired living in the East Antrim area.

Getting There

Joymount Church Hall sits beside Carrickfergus Library in the town centre, within easy walking distance of Carrickfergus railway station and the town’s main bus stops. On-street parking is available nearby, and Carrickfergus Castle and the harbour are a short walk away.
