Carrickmacross Farmers and Craft Market

Carrickmacross Farmers and Craft Market sets up in Market Square on the first Saturday of every month, bringing together local food producers and craft makers for a morning of stalls in the town centre. Launched in August 2024, it has grown into a regular fixture for the town, running alongside Carrickmacross’s older Thursday street market. It closes for January and February each year and resumes in March, running through the rest of the year.

What to expect

Expect seasonal produce, home-baked goods and handcrafted items from small local businesses and individual makers, set up around Market Square from 9am until 2pm. The market is run independently rather than by the council, and stallholders change from month to month, so there is no fixed list of who will be there on any given Saturday, though regulars include home bakers, jam and preserve makers and craft sellers. It sits beside the Market House, home to the Carrickmacross Lace gallery and the Collective craft and art space, so it is easy to combine a look at the market with a browse of the permanent craft gallery next door. There is no entry charge, and stalls trade rain or shine for the full four hours.

Market Square is in the centre of Carrickmacross, within walking distance of the town’s main car parks and the bus stop on Main Street.
