Christmas at Dublin Castle 2026

Christmas at Dublin Castle transforms the castle grounds into a festive market from early December through to Christmas Eve. The courtyard lit up at dusk, with the castle walls around you, gives it an atmosphere that’s hard to replicate anywhere else in the city.

What to Expect

Stalls sell Irish-made crafts, artisan food, gifts, and seasonal treats. There’s usually a food court with hot drinks and festive food, live music, and activities for children.

• Free entry to the market

• Open daily, typically 12pm to 8pm (later at weekends)

• Can get very crowded on weekend evenings - weekday lunchtime is quieter

• Combine with a tour of the castle state apartments

• Good for Christmas gift shopping
