A Recurrence at the Civic Theatre Tallaght (Dublin Fringe Festival)

At Civic Theatre · Lord Edward Street, Tallaght, Dublin 24, Co. Dublin

Performers on stage during a theatre production

What to Expect

A Recurrence has its world premiere at the Civic Theatre in Tallaght as part of Dublin Fringe Festival, running across almost two weeks in early September. The production follows three Dublin women across different decades, using that structure to explore how the city, and their lives within it, shift and echo across time. As a world premiere, this is the first chance anywhere to see the piece staged, which gives it particular appeal for regular Fringe audiences who follow new Irish writing and theatre-making from the earliest opportunity.

Dublin Fringe Festival has a reputation for backing riskier, more experimental new work than mainstream theatre programming, and hosting a premiere of this scale at the Civic reflects the venue’s role as one of the festival’s satellite stages outside the city centre. For Tallaght and South Dublin audiences, it’s a chance to catch a Fringe premiere without a trip into town, while still getting the full festival experience of new, first-run Irish theatre.

With performances spread across multiple dates and times between 2 and 13 September, there is more flexibility than a single-night booking to fit the show around other plans, though popular Fringe premieres can sell out particular dates quickly once reviews and word of mouth start to circulate during the run.
