Burren Hill Walks offers twice-daily guided walks throughout the year across the limestone plateau of the Burren, exploring one of the richest archaeological and botanical landscapes in Western Europe. Each walk covers multiple heritage topics: the 75 Neolithic wedge tombs, Iron Age ring forts and field systems, early Christian churches, medieval monasteries and the fulachta fiadh (ancient cooking sites) that dot the plateau. Walking guides also cover botany, wildlife, geology and the traditional farming practices that have maintained the Burren’s unique character for millennia. Walks are tailored to group ability.
The Burren is accessed from the N67 coastal road and the R480 through the interior. The nearest town is Ballyvaughan, approx. 50km north of Ennis. Pick-up points can be arranged - check the website when booking.
