Clare U14 Hurling Super 10s Club Championship 2026

At Various Club Grounds, Co. Clare · Various, Co. Clare

U14 hurlers at a Clare GAA club championship match

The Clare U14 Hurling Super 10s Club Championship is one of the highlights of the underage GAA calendar in the Banner County. Kicking off on Wednesday 19 August 2026, it brings together clubs from across Co. Clare in a 10-a-side format designed to give young hurlers - aged 13 and 14 - more ball time, more touches, and more meaningful involvement than the full 15-a-side game can offer at that stage of development. If you have a child playing, or you simply love watching hurling with genuine heart in it, this is the kind of underage championship worth following.

What to expect

The Super 10s format is deliberately player-centred. With ten players a side rather than fifteen, the pitch is smaller and the game is faster - skills are tested more often, and no one gets to hide on the fringes. The Clare GAA county board uses this format for the opening phase of the U14 championship before moving into standard club rounds. After the Super 10s launch on 19 August, the championship runs through a series of Sunday rounds - 23 August, 6 September, 20 September - before semi-finals on 4 October and finals on 18 October 2026.

Matches are played at club grounds throughout the county, so the atmosphere is close, local, and genuinely community-driven. Expect vocal sidelines, freshly cut grass, and the particular kind of excitement that comes from watching young players compete in the county colours of their club for the first time.

Getting there

Fixtures are spread across club grounds throughout Co. Clare rather than at a single venue, so it is worth checking the Clare GAA fixtures page at clare.gaa.ie before heading out, or following your local club’s social media for confirmed match locations and times. Ennis is the county town and a natural base - it sits at the junction of the M18 motorway from Limerick and the N85 from the west. Bus Eireann runs services into Ennis from Limerick, Galway, and Galway city. Most rural club grounds will have informal car parking on the day.

While you’re in Ennis

A championship day out pairs well with a walk through Ennis town centre, which holds a good range of cafes and restaurants within a few minutes of each other. There is more to see in Ennis and across Co. Clare.
