At Clonmany Community Centre · Clonmany, Inishowen, Co. Donegal, F93 XV88
Clonmany Community Centre has run a car boot sale on the first Saturday of the month, from April through to December, for more than 20 years, making it one of the longest running markets of its kind in County Donegal. It runs from 10am to 2pm, with tables set up inside and around the centre for a mix of regular stallholders and new sellers, described by the venue itself as “a vibrant event with regular stall holders and new faces are always welcome.” The centre’s kitchen serves tea, coffee, soup and freshly made sandwiches at reasonable prices through the morning, and organisers can provide clothing rails and position vendors near electrical outlets on request, which points to a market as comfortable hosting clothing and bric-a-brac sellers as general car boot traders. Clonmany itself is a small Inishowen village a few miles inland from Ballyliffin and the Isle of Doagh, and the community centre is one of the anchor venues for events in the area.
Clonmany is on the R238 Inishowen coastal loop, between Buncrana and Ballyliffin, and is best reached by car given its village setting. The community centre has parking on site, making it straightforward for sellers arriving with car loads of stock as well as buyers calling in to browse.
