Coldplace, A Coldplay Tribute, at Monroe's Live

At Monroe's Live · Dominick Street Upper, Galway City, Co. Galway

Tribute band performing stadium pop rock at Monroe's Live Galway

What to Expect

Coldplace is a tribute act built around Coldplay, the British band fronted by Chris Martin who have spent more than two decades turning anthemic, piano and guitar led pop rock into some of the biggest stadium shows in the world. Expect a set drawn from across the catalogue, “Yellow”, “Fix You”, “Viva la Vida”, “Clocks” and “Paradise” among the likely inclusions, songs built on big, simple choruses designed to be sung back by a full room, which makes them a natural fit for a tribute band working a smaller venue looking to recreate that communal singalong feeling on a club scale. Coldplay’s own live shows have leaned heavily into visual spectacle over the years, wristbands, confetti and elaborate lighting, and a tribute act generally cannot match that production, but the songs themselves are strong enough to carry a stripped back version reasonably well. Expect a crowd pleasing, broadly appealing night rather than a niche genre show, suited to a wide range of ages.
