Irish Rail is holding public drop-in consultation events across Cork on Phase 2 of the Cork Area Commuter Rail Programme. The Kent Station event runs from 4pm to 8pm on 24 June 2026. Staff will be on hand to explain proposals for eight new stations at Blarney, Monard, Tivoli, Ballynoe, Carrigtwohill West, Water-Rock, Dunkettle, and Blackpool, along with full electrification of the Cork rail network and a new depot at Ballyrichard More. Members of the public can ask questions and submit feedback directly.
Kent Station is Cork’s main rail terminus, served by all Cork city bus routes. Ample parking is available nearby on Lower Glanmire Road and surrounding streets.
