Cork v Waterford - Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Senior Camogie Semi-Final

At UPMC Nowlan Park · Nowlan Park, Kilkenny

Cork camogie semi-final

Cork take on Waterford in the Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship semi-final at UPMC Nowlan Park, Kilkenny on Saturday 25 July 2026. Cork go in as strong favourites, chasing a third consecutive All-Ireland title after already lifting the league and Munster crowns this season. Waterford, for their part, will not be making up the numbers - they beat Cork in last year’s All-Ireland final before losing out to Galway in that decider, and they arrive here with Vikki Falconer back after a cruciate injury adds real bite to their attack. If you follow camogie at any level, this is one of the biggest games of the year.

What to expect

This is a double-header day at Nowlan Park. Galway face Tipperary in the first semi-final at 2:30pm, with Cork and Waterford kicking off the second game at 5:00pm. Between the two matches there is a real occasion to it - a full afternoon of top-level camogie, with both winners going on to meet in the All-Ireland final at Croke Park on 9 August.

Cork’s key names include Amy O’Connor, Saoirse McCarthy, Orlaith Cahalane, and Katrina Mackey, with goalkeeper Ashling Thompson one of the best in the country. Waterford’s biggest threat is Niamh Rockett, who scored 1-11 in their quarter-final win to reach this stage, alongside Beth Carton and Annie Fitzgerald. If you are following either county you will know these names well. If you are a neutral, this is a sharp, fast, high-scoring brand of camogie at its best.

Nowlan Park itself is a compact, well-run county ground with good sightlines from most positions. It holds around 27,000 and rarely gets that full for anything outside a Kilkenny hurling final, so you should be comfortable on the day.

Getting there

UPMC Nowlan Park sits on the south side of Kilkenny city, just off the ring road. From Cork City the quickest route is the M8 north to Urlingford, then the M9 to Kilkenny - around 1 hour 45 minutes in normal traffic. Allow extra time on match day, particularly if you plan to catch the first semi-final at 2:30pm.

Bus Eireann and GoBus run services between Cork and Kilkenny, with journey times of roughly two hours. Kilkenny train station is served by Dublin - Waterford - Kilkenny Intercity trains; check Irish Rail for times from Cork (you will likely change in Dublin Heuston or go via bus). If driving, parking is available at several sites around the ground - the car parks on Loughmacask fill early on big days, so aim to arrive well before throw-in.

While you’re in Cork

If you are travelling up from Cork on the day, the event itself is in Kilkenny - but a win for Cork would make the journey home all the sweeter. There is more to see in Cork and across Co. Cork.
